After I moved out of Westwood to Echo Park/Silverlake, people would ask, "Why would you drive all the way to Santa Monica for yoga?" My answer: "Cindy." I attended one of Cindy's classes for the first time 6 years ago, and I haven't been able to find another yoga teacher who can even begin to compare to Cindy. Her classes are a catharsis-I enter completely stressed out and holding a lot of tension in my muscles, and I exit feeling completely at peace and with my body thanking me. Cindy always makes her students feel welcome and shares her extensive knowledge of anatomy during her classes to help students improve their practice.
I started taking Cindy's classes when I burned out my adrenal glands and my naturopathic doctor made me start yoga. Cindy's classes have been a huge influence on my body, mind and spirit -- all have been highly strengthened. Last week I had a revelation when Cindy read the Thich Nhat Hanh poem "Peace Is Every Step." She'd read it many times before in class but this time it really hit me: peace really IS every step... That's what Cindy brings to her class.
